Two Hundred Doors: the company that has been distributing Dermalogica in New Zealand for over 25 years, are providing their stockists with the tools, both product and education, so they can continue to help their clients achieve their best possible skin health.
The Two Hundred Doors all-female team are dedicated to leading their tribe of 62 small businesses through the murky waters of COVID-19.
Women supporting women is the backbone of Two Hundred Doors and now more than ever, New Zealand stockists are looking to them for leadership and advice.
“Professional skin centres are facing very tough times with the current closure of their businesses in both Level 3 and 4 as they are built on the power of touch through skin therapy and treatments, many don’t have an online extension of their service,” says Natasha Bourke, CEO of Two Hundred Doors.
“We really care about them, they’re more than business partners, they’re part of our family. To help them future proof their businesses to survive, we’ve launched a series of initiatives…
“One example is in the Dermalogica website; when a customer is checking out their basket they are given the option to select their local Dermalogica Skin Centre, which gives the store a generous percentage of the sale whilst they currently can’t sell themselves.”
Other such initiatives include a complementary business strategy webinar that Two Hundred Doors CEO, Natasha Bourke and General Manager, Angie Montgomery ran in week two of lockdown.
Over 30 stockists attended the two-hour session which provided ideas on how they could pivot their business strategy during COVID- 19, as well as financial and legal advice.
With the heart of these small businesses at stake, weekly zoom ‘coffee meetings’ have been taking place to check-in, offer support and advice during this tough time.
On April 28th there was the national launch of ‘virtual skin consultations’, allowing customers instant access to skin therapists from the safety of their homes. Dermalogica skin therapists are being trained in this new ‘Face Mapping’ technology and protocol by the Two Hundred Doors team.
The virtual consultations result in a personalised recommendation of Dermalogica products that can be shipped from dermalogica.co.nz with the special ability to provide the skin centre commission from the sale as if they sold it themselves.
The Two Hundred Doors website has a raft of local and International resources available for the wider skin therapy business community to access.
Closer to home, Caroline Parker, Head of Education for Dermalogica New Zealand, has been creating education webinars for skin therapists to enhance their skills while in lockdown.
These sit alongside live stream education classes, master class videos, financial planning guides and online marketing materials.
The Two Hundred Doors team are encouraging people to support local by purchasing vouchers from their local skin centres which can be used once we move into Level 2. These also make an ideal gift choice.
Most recently, Two Hundred Doors have added Skintopia to their portfolio – a results driven, scientifically based skin treatment salon in Wellington and very soon, in Auckland’s Commercial Bay.
